Setup Student Email - Android

1. Open the “Mail” application

2. Select New Account

3. Select Manual Setup

Incoming Server Settings:

Protocol – IMAP

Email Address – YourUsername@ivytech.edu

Username – Your Ivy Tech Username

Password – Your Ivy Tech Password

IMAP Server – imap.gmail.com

Security Type – SSL

Server Port – 993

On the next page will be outgoing server settings.  If you need to send mail you will need to use your own outgoing mail server.  For example, if you have a gmail account this is what you’ll do:

Check server requires authentication.

Enter your gmail username and password.

SMTP Server – smtp.gmail.com

Security Type – SSL

Server Port – 465

Please note that some Andriod users, will need to set this up as a Gmail account instead of using the manual set up instructions listed here.  If you don’t have a Gmail account you can use the outgoing server from your Internet Service Provider.  They would be able to provide those settings to you.

The next page you select an account name and then finish setup.
